CSN Patnaik

Keywords:  CSN Patnaik  was born in 1925 in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Under the tutelage of D P Roy Choudhary and K C S Panickar, he studied plastic and pictorial sensibilities.  His sensibilities deeply rooted in the rural ambience of Andhra Pradesh. He could display a metaphor of profound dignity in a life of poverty, particularly of women steeped in hard work. Indeed, the theme and image of the woman dominate his works. He has always laid stress on technical virtuosity, craftsmanship and skill. It is his unflinching humanity seen in varies human conditions that shines in what he portrays.
He is one of those artists who still works in a traditional bronze medium.  Even at this advanced age Patnaik continues to create with equal zest and enthusiasm.
